Troubleshoot the Claude Connector

Most connector problems are setup problems. Check the config, restart Claude, verify the key, and confirm the connector can reach Redliner.

Claude does not show Redliner tools

  • Confirm the connector entry is in the correct Claude Desktop config file.
  • Restart Claude Desktop after editing the config.
  • Check that the connector command path is correct.
  • Look for JSON syntax errors in the config file.

API key errors

  • Confirm the key exists and has not been revoked.
  • Confirm the environment variable or secret name matches the connector instructions.
  • Check that the key has the read scopes required for the question.
  • Rotate the key if it may have been exposed.

Answers look incomplete

The connector can only answer from data it can access. If a project, drawing set, RFI, or takeoff is outside the key’s scope, Claude may not see it.
