MCP in plain English
MCP is a local bridge between an AI assistant and approved tools or data. Instead of Claude guessing from a pasted prompt, the connector gives Claude structured, permissioned access to the Redliner information your workspace exposes.
Read-only by design
The connector should be used for questions, analysis, summaries, and reporting. It should not silently write project data, change drawings, or create commitments unless a future workflow explicitly supports that and your admin enables it.
Good use cases
- Summarize open drawing issues before a meeting.
- Ask which sheets have unresolved markups or RFIs.
- Review takeoff quantities by category or area.
- Prepare a plain-English project status summary from Redliner context.
