Create RFIs from markups

If a drawing issue needs an answer, make it an RFI instead of leaving a vague note on the sheet. The RFI should carry the page, location, thumbnail, and question together.

Create the source markup

  1. Open the relevant sheet.
  2. Cloud, call out, or mark the exact area in question.
  3. Keep the markup tight around the issue so the responder does not hunt for context.

Convert or attach the RFI

  1. Choose the RFI action from the markup or sheet context menu when available.
  2. Write the question in one clear sentence.
  3. Add background only if it helps the responder answer faster.
  4. Assign an owner and due date.

Close the loop

  1. Review the response against the drawing.
  2. Add any follow-up markup or task created by the answer.
  3. Close the RFI only when the answer is usable.
  4. Export or archive the thread if the contract record requires it.
