Troubleshoot takeoff measurements

Most takeoff problems come from a few predictable causes: scale, category, room assignment, duplicate geometry, or measuring on the wrong revision.

Quantity looks too large or too small

  • Recheck scale against a known dimension.
  • Confirm the sheet is not an enlarged detail or not-to-scale diagram.
  • Look for accidental extra clicks or an unclosed area boundary.

Quantity is in the wrong bucket

  • Check the selected category on the measurement.
  • Rename overly broad categories before exporting.
  • Move the measurement to the correct category and rerun the summary.

Room or area summary is wrong

  • Confirm the room boundary exists and is named correctly.
  • Check whether the measurement is inside the area boundary.
  • Assign or reassign the measurement manually if needed.

Export does not match what you expected

Look for filters. The export may be limited by sheet, category, area, visible markups, or selected scope. Clear filters and try a small test export before sending the full package.
